What it is APROCACI

APROCACI, is the Association of the Cocoa Producers from Cibao.

APROCACI, was founded on October 10, 1997 in the Province of Hermanas Mirabal, Dominican Republic, but with mayor incidence throughout the province Duarte.

The Partnership Initiative was taken by a group of producers mainly encouraged by Mr. Tobias Rafael Gonzalez (alias Don Tobias) who felt the need to unite the efforts of the Cocoa`s Producers in the region.



History

In this production , we interviewed Rafael Donzález David González , President of the Association of the Cibao Cocoa Producers ( APROCACI ) .

Mission

APROCACI introduce the Dominican cocoa on international markets, through a production which is manage under the strictest quality standards, improving the quality of living of the cocoas`s producers in the region.

Vision

Be set within the most demanding international markets and be known worldwide as producers of high quality cocoa.

General Objective

Improve the standard of living of the cocoa`s producers in the region through increased quality cocoa production and defend of their rights, thus having the basis for entering in the international market.

Specific objectives

  1. Streamline the production of cocoa farms modernizing the infrastructure as associate members .
  2. Train and motivate associate members through seminars, lectures and activities that promote the production and improvement of cocoa.
  3. Provide extensive technical assistance and services to members.
  4. Make contacts on international markets for the marketing of cocoa produced by our partners.
  5. Defend the rights of cocoa`s producers with the relevant authorities .
  6. Increase annually the number of Certificates of Organic Farms
